Wait--that's MY part, darn it! I saw the original King Kong when I was 6 or 7 years old. I desperately wanted to be Fay Ray. She was so beautiful and had that fabulous melodramatic scream. The closest I've come is having guys that look like King Kong approach me at bars! Ahhh! The irony!
Wasn't Fey Ray one of Larry Grayson's imaginary friends? I missed that version of the film, you know, the camp one. OOOH, listen to her, beating her chest!
Mark, I've just found out that Fey Ray the band actually exist. They say this about a forthcoming gig:-
"Many of you have complained to me that you rilly, rilly want to come to our gigs, but since most of our shows have been on 'school nights', you just couldn't make it. Well, we're playing on a FRIDAY this week at the High Dive in Fremont. We really wanna you there...so do what you gotta! We'll bring the RAWK.
We'll be playing with Storm and the Balls...a Portland "Loungecore" act and one of the hottest bands in PDX. I for one, am looking forward to seeing them live. Their bass player, Davey Nipples (formally of the Sweaty Nipples) is one of the best slap players in the NW!"

Can I just say that, if there's some sort of award for Comment Of The Year, Vicus should be in the running for that one.
Fey Ray and his Xylophone Kings. I remember them well.
It's kept me smiling all day, Betty.

OUCH!
Loungecore? Wow, man. I haven't heard anyone use that phrase since the 1968 Rutstilton Free Festival of Blues Jazz and Swedish Polka.
Mind you - a slap bassist in a loungecore context? Sounds a little post-modern, doncha think? Scotty Moore would be turning in his grave to hear that.
To the barricades, man. Rock on!
