Grant Lubbock, formerly of grizzled Americana band The Novotels, is due to appear at the Powys Americana Festival. Grant is unhappy as Texas have been booked to headline.
'The poster just looks dumb. "Powys...Texas" They're not even American. They're from England.'
The organisers relent. Grant is given the headline spot...
'Grant Lubbock...Texas'.

Before anyone says Texas are from Scotland, I refer you to the shite tv series Lost in which the idiotic drug addled English bass player of the band Driveshaft uttered the words 'England is an island'.
Now do we get to say "Texas are from Scotland".
Because if we do, then I'm glad you told us. I hadn't heard of them, let alone know where they are from.
Texas - Piss poor 1980's MOR band who would have sunk without trace if it wasn't for the enthusiasm of Chris Evans on his TFI Friday show in the nineties. Since then they've gone from strength to strength and even recorded a song with the late great rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard. I think they were on the same record label.
i fucking hate texas. peddlers of softcore whiny rubbish.
phew, glad i got that off my chest.
Can we talk about Guy Clark now? Or Willie Nelson? Or Rodney Crowell? Or Butch Hancock?
They're from Texas. Though I'm not sure they'd answer to 'Americana'.
Surly Girl - Feel free to vent your anger anytime here. Anger is an energy.
Mark - Is that Butch Hancock of Butch Hancock and Sundance Sid? Willie Nelson is number 4 in the charts at the moment duetting with Jessica Simpson on 'These Boots are made for walking'. The song ties in with the Dukes of Hazzard film. You can hardly hear him and you wish you couldn't hear her.
Is that Rodney Crowell of Rodney Crowell and the Irritable Bowels?
