It is 1975. The temperature outside is 53 farenheit. Today's number one is Glass of Champagne by Sailor. Let's get together, the two of us over a glass of champagne. You don't mind sharing, do you?

I've noticed with Geoff's posts that despite comng in a group all at the same time, one of the dreams always attracts more comments than the other. We are a sociable species, it seems.

I'm just putting out a comment for this post to help it keep up. I like it, but I can't think of a thing to say about it. Sailor, indeed...

I know Rod Stewart straddled the Atlantic on Atlantic Crossing but my arm won't reach further than Weston-Super-Mare. Console yourself with the image of the bubbles going up my nose. And violent hiccups.

Thank you, Francisco. I see you're a man of discerning taste.

Would you like a snakebite?

Aaaaahh 1975. 21 I was and that Sailor '45' was a great pop song.

I was too young to understand the 'homo-erotic' nature of their act. Young men purporting to be sailors, covered in make up........

Still, great blog check out mi........oh fuck it who gives a shit.

Thanks, Steve. If Terry Hall hadn't mentioned he'd bought Sailor's Greatest Hits last year this song probably wouldn't have got past my grown up sensible twat taste meter (although I've probably absent-mindedly sung it every now and then for the past 30 years). My early teenage head couldn't give a shit about being cool and that's the head I now wear. At home, anyway.

I knew it! The comments on this post have ALMOST overtaken the Brian Blessed one. I knew I could do that!!!

(Megalomaniac cackle)

I have to agree about Sailor, actually. Their combination of European street music, Latin music, Europop and oo-er missus lyrics ought to be a right old load of nonsense but they are in fact pretty good. Mind you, I like any old rubbish from the '70's these days.

Am I supposed to put a comment on the Brian Blessed post now - or possibly the Madonna one?

By all means comment on Madonna. She'll be heartbroken if you don't.

Yay!!! Sailor are leading!!!!
