Ted Heath is lifted to heaven on a mourning cloud.
I've always been useless at art and never saw the point of art lessons for people like me. Of course, being an obedient teenager, I couldn't muck around in big school art lessons particularly since the art teacher was a fierce man and an expert shot with a piece of chalk hurled from his one arm. But at primary school I just did what I liked: crap cartoons. Hence this budding Steve Bell drew a cartoon entitled 'Three-Eyed Ted from Number 10'. He had the teeth, of course, and a large cyclops eye in the middle of his forehead. Maybe I foresaw the three day week? Maybe Ted really did have a third eye which focused solely on a new Europe. In any case, I didn't see the point of a European Common Market. Mother took me to enough common markets as it was.
