Chelsea FC are in the Cup Final. The team record ABBA's 'Money Money Money' as their song. Lampard and Terry sing their hearts out as the girls. Abramovich and Mourinho are the shady boys at the back, half hidden by their instruments.

Chelsea's predictable capture of Shaun Wright-Phillips reminds me of another double-barrelled footballer who plied his trade at the Bridge of Thighs, Peter Rhodes-Brown. Unlike Shaun, whose first surname was taken from his step-dad footballing legend Ian Wright, Peter was a true posho, a lord of the realm, an Eton educated, grouse shooting winger who could run up and down the left side of Chelsea's midfield all day, with or without the ball. Or was he born to working class parents with the common surname Brown who wished to distinguish themselves from lesser Browns in their area? What does Google say? No history but in April 2004 he is the match announcer at Oxford United. I'm none the wiser, then.

As a long-time Chelsea sufferer (and currently slightly guilty but what the heck I'll get over it cause we won the league celebrator) I find this dream strangely disturbing.

I think that was the plan, right ?:)

Nice site, Geoff.

PS: I'm also fond of a bit of Abba.

Thanks, Mark. And don't feel guilty. If a rich Russian took a shine to Upton Park...No, it's not going to happen, is it? And ABBA have everything. One minute you're crying with Agnetha. The next you're laughing at Bjorn.
