At the very end of his groundbreaking series 'Geldof in Africa', Sir Bob sums it all up:
'So this has been my Africa. The most beautiful, terrible, heartwarming, desperate, rich, poor, blisteringly bright, terrifyingly dark, magical, practical, funny, sad, life-affirming, depressing, forward-looking, backward-looking, most incredible yet credible continent on earth. I love this place. Yet I hate it.

Of course to accompany the ravishing images and sheer poetry of his script, Sir Bob needed a fitting score. He scoured the whole of the Dark Continent for a musician worthy of such a task. But none of them had 'it'. So he turned to his fellow former Boomtown Rat, Mr Pete Briquette.

Apparently Sir Bob is being sued by all of the other ex-Rats over monies unpaid. Perhaps he has reached an out of court settlement whereby Mr Briquette provided the score for "Geldorrrfff In Africa". Besides which, is it any coincidence that Johnny Fingers has taken an early retirement, now resides in a huge villa in the Maldives, and owns a yacht?

The last I heard of Mr Fingers, he was in hospital and got into bed wearing a 3 piece suit. When the nurse asked him if he had any pyjamas, he roared: 'I'm Johnny Fingers! And I damn well wear whatever I like!'
